Caven+Etomi : "Idia" Collection Lookbook

“Kingdom” is a unisex T-shirt line launched in January 2013 under by Caven+Etomi label. The designers are London based (Nigeria-descent) bloggers : Cookie Caven, Kaven Caven & Ozzy Etomi ( 4AcesDate Blog ). This is the official lookbook for the “Idia” collection , which was shot , in Lagos , Nigeria .

"Kingdom" est une ligne de T-shirt unisexe , lancée en  Janvier 2013 par le label Caven+Etomi . Les créatrices en sont les bloggeuses Londoniennes Cookie Caven, Kaven Caven et Ozzy Etomi                  ( 4AcesDate Blog ) . Ceci est le lookbook de la collection "Idia" shootée à Lagos au Nigéria.


The collection was named after the Edo ivory masks, said to represent "Queen Idia" who ruled in the 16th century. The powerful symbolism throughout the collection , along with the baroque vibes in the graphics, vehicles a powerful aura of luxury and royalty ; That's StreetChic ! The girls say they were inspired by their African heritage, love of the culture, art and historical artifacts.

La collection doit son nom aux petites statuettes d'Ivoire "Edo" , supposées représenter la "Reine Idia" du 16eme siècle. Le symbolisme fort qui se dégage de leurs créations , de même que l'esprit "baroque" très présent dans les graphismes ,véhicule une aura de luxe et de royauté dans des tons très Africains. C'est du StreetChic ! Les filles ont été inspirées par leurs origines Africaines , leur amour pour la culture et l'art du continent .





The "Idia" collection has both a high end and urban appeal, and is for the fashion forward trendsetter. Last but not least , a portion of the proceeds is to be donated to a charity of their choice, quarterly.

La collection "Idia" a une esthétique à la fois haut de gamme et urbaine qui pourra être porté par hommes , femmes , garçons et filles sans pour autant faire "uniforme". Le label compte reverser une partie des bénéfices à un organisme caritatif dont le nom sera révélé dans les semaines à venir.

Why Everybody HATES Rihanna's COLLECTION

 One of the most surprising shows at London Fashion Week (Fall 2013) was Rihanna for River Island. The very first official collection by our favourite Barbadian PopStar.

Rihanna actually inspired and designed a full collection for the British Clothing Label ...



 Quite a controversial collection that still arouses strong (Positive and Negative) reactions ...







Acclaimed by Rihanna fans and Rihanna Wannabes ... They wish she had posed for the campaign .
 





Unfortunately she only received slamming critics by fashion professionals .





Rihanna claimed in a pre-show promotional video that her collection was “casual”, “chic” and “flirty” ; Fashion and press Gurus had a very different point of view on her fashion show , however .  

Tom Syke from the Daily Beast called it "Hideous" " Porny" "Horror show" , saying:

"Rihanna's show was a tiresome, underwhelming and uninspired marketing exercise. The clothes were hideous and without an ounce of panache or style between them. It was like Fright Night in Kmart."



Rebecca Adams of the Huffington Post Talks about Riri being an hour late at her own fashion show and about her clothes showing too much skin : " We know timeliness isn't de rigueur during fashion week, but making attendees wait a whole hour? [...]Nipple-baring, crotch-flashing mesh outfits and bra tops aren't exactly what a stylish girl wants to throw on for a casual night out. "







 The HuffPost also discusses Rihanna's late arrival and the fact that Rihanna didn't even technically "designed" the clothes . They say she only "worked" on the collection by phone and email .







Not being a big Rihanna fan/hater my opinion is that , the collection is quite cool . I would not wear all of the clothes (not really my style) but some yes (???  like the pink see-through shirt above) . I think it would be fine to mix Rihanna clothes with other stuff , to avoid the Rihanna Look-alike effect .

I think the idea behind the collection was to create something 200% Rihanna , for her fans and stuff and I think they did it great ! I can really see Rihanna wearing every single piece of the collection . Now it's really up to the people , but I dont find it that "Horrible" .
That's Rihanna typical " I dont give a f*ck " attitude .

My Make-up Collection: Mascaras

Prošlo je skoro dva meseca od poslednjeg make-up posta. Što se mene tice isuviše. Stoga, odmah prelazimo na stvar. U glavnoj ulozi današnjeg javljanja su maskare. Sve one koje sam koristila u proteklih par meseci, i one koje i dalje koristim. Pokušacu da vam što bolje docaram karakteristiku svake, i ujedno preporucim one najomiljenije. Vama ostavljam komentare za svako pitanje ili nedoumicu, ali i kako biste izneli predloge vaših omiljenih proizvoda ove vrste.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara (black)


>> Veštacke trepavice nisu moj fah. Usled toga volim maskare koje postižu slican efekat. Ovo je svakako jedna od njih. Fenomenalan proizvod koji ne slepljuje trepavice, cini ih znacajno dužim, dugo ostaje na njima, a ujedno lako se skida. Sve pohvale idu ovoj maskari! Koristim je uglavnom u dnevnim varijantama, jer je dovoljno suptilna da pruža efekat prirodnog izgleda. Pored svega navedenog jako mi je bitno da prilikom njenog nanošenja nema tragova na kapcima, koji umeju da deluju izuzetno neuredno.

>> Ovo je još jedna fantasticna maskare iz Max Factor ponude. Ako vam se ucini da ste je vec videli na mom blogu, niste se prevarili. Prvi put sam je spominjala u ovom postu, ali njen kvalitet i sve što ide uz to, naterao me je da je još jednom spomenem. Jednostavno, ovo je maskara koja vredi svaki dinar! Više ni ne pamtim koliko mi je ljudi prokomentarisalo boju ociju baš onda kada nanesem ovaj proizvod. Naime, ova linija dizajnirana je tako da se maskare uskladuju sa nijansom vaših ociju, kako bi ih dodatno istakli. Bitno je napomenuti da su sve maskare crne, ali da svaka u sebi ima sastojak predodreden da datu boju ociju ucini intenzivnijom. Sve preporuke!

Artdeco All In One Mascara


>> Ako biram najomiljeniju maskaru u crnoj boji, onda ta titula mora pripasti ovom Artdeco savršenstvu. Jednostavno idealna za vecernje prilike, nešto jacu šminku ociju i željeni upadljiv izgled trepvica. Trepavice cini gušcim, dužim, bogatijim. Mislim da sam rekla i više nego dovoljno.

 Bourjois Queen Attitude Macsara (62 brown)


>> Evo još jednog apsolutnog pobednika, samo ovog puta u kategoriji maskara u boji. Bourjois me nanovo iznenaduje lakocom i nežnošcu svojih proizvoda. Neupadljiva, a opet efektna, ova mskara je odlicna za dnevne, ležerne varijante u kojima vam je cilj da izgledate sveže, negovano ali i prirodno. Skoro da se ne nakon nanošenja ne primecuje, a sa druge strane cini drasticnu razliku u izgledu vaših ociju. Prava mala magija.

 Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara


>> Rekla bih da je Maybelline svoje ime proslavio zavaljujuci odlicnim maskarama. Možda i grešim, ali cini mi se da je upravo to proizvod u kojem su pokazali koliko umeju da budu dobri. Ova maskara je još jedan dokaz mojoj tezi. Kako vec primecujete pravim razliku izmedu dnevnih i vecernjih maskara, te bih ovu svrstala u odlicnu dnevnu varijsntu crne maskare. Trepavice postaju enormno duže, ali opet zadržavaju suptilan izgled. Jedina mana ovog proizvoda jesu pomenute mrlje na kapcima, koje nastaju suled dužine cetkice.

 Maybelline The Rocket Volum Express



>> I taman kada sam povalila Maybelline, stiže jedna kritika na racun njihovih maskara. Na mom udaru jedna je od najhvaljenijih maskare koje je Maybelline skoro izbacio. Apsurdno, zar ne? Ali realno, barem u mom slucaju. Da li zbog dužine izbocina na cetkicama, samog sastava maskare ili neceg treceg, te ova maskara spada u proizvod koji ne bih nanovo kupila. Slepljene i teške trepavice, loša postojanost uz ostavljanje tragova u vidu sitnih crnih ljuspica, glavni su razlozi za moj negativan stav prema ovom proizvodu.

Izuzetno kvalitetna plastika, odlicna je za odlganje vaših olovki za oci i usne, ajaljnera, maskari, ruževa pa cak i pudera, i prajmera. U zavisnosti koliko šminke posedujtete, zavisice koliko cete i ovakvih organajzera nabaviti. Ako se još jednom osvrnem na cenu, i uporedim je sa cenama standardnih odlgaca za šminku, jasno je koliko ce vam se ova kupovina isplatiti.
